Description:
Abiathar, son of Ahimelech, escaped Saul’s massacre of the priests of Nob and joined David. He served David faithfully for many years and carried the ephod, giving David priestly guidance. However, near the end of David’s life, Abiathar supported Adonijah instead of Solomon.
