Ahijah or Ahimelech appears connected with the priestly family serving during King Saul’s time. Ahimelech is especially remembered as the priest of Nob who helped David by giving him bread and Goliath’s sword. Saul later accused the priests of helping David and ordered the massacre of Nob.
