(Arizal) Rabbi Yitzchak Luria (jan 1, 1534 – jan 1, 1572)
Description:
The Arizal was one of the most influential Kabbalists in Jewish history. He lived only a short life, but his teachings transformed Jewish mysticism. His ideas about creation, exile, spiritual repair, and tikkun became central to later Kabbalah.
His teachings spread mainly through his student Rabbi Chaim Vital. Lurianic Kabbalah deeply influenced Sephardic, Ashkenazi, Hasidic, and mystical Jewish traditions, shaping prayer, customs, theology, and the spiritual understanding of exile and redemption.
