Saadia Gaon was one of the most famous and influential Geonim. He served as Gaon of Sura and wrote in many fields: Jewish law, philosophy, grammar, biblical translation, and polemics. He is especially famous for translating the Torah into Arabic and for his philosophical work Emunot ve-Deot.
