Ravina II (jan 1, 422 – jan 1, 499)
Description:
Ravina II is traditionally considered one of the final Amoraim. His death is often used as a symbolic end point for the Talmudic period.
Together with Rav Ashi and later scholars, he represents the closing stage of the Babylonian Talmud’s formation. After this came the Savoraim and then the Geonim.
