Rabbi Yehudah HaNasi (jan 1, 135 – jan 1, 219)
Description:
Rabbi Yehudah HaNasi, also called Rabbi or Rabbeinu HaKadosh, was the redactor/compiler of the Mishnah. This made him one of the most important figures in all rabbinic history.
By organizing the Oral Torah into the Mishnah, he preserved the teachings of the Tannaim for future generations. His work became the foundation for both the Jerusalem Talmud and the Babylonian Talmud.
