King Herod Agrippa II (jan 1, 50 – jan 1, 92)
Description:
Herod Agrippa II, son of Agrippa I, was the last major Herodian ruler. He ruled various northern territories from around 50 CE into the late 1st century.
Agrippa II tried to prevent the First Jewish–Roman War by warning the Jews not to rebel against Rome, but he failed. During the war, he sided with Rome. From a Jewish perspective, he represents the final stage of Herodian rule: a Jewish-connected dynasty that had become fully dependent on Rome. After him, the Herodian dynasty disappeared as a meaningful ruling power.
