Prophet Micah (Judah) (jan 1, 735 BC – jan 1, 700 BC)
Description:
Micah prophesied in Judah during the same period as Isaiah, condemning corruption among leaders and warning of the fall of Samaria and Jerusalem. He emphasized true religion as acting justly, loving mercy, and walking humbly with God, and foretold a future ruler from Bethlehem. In a related tradition, the prophet Micaiah stood against King Ahab and false prophets, predicting his death in battle despite pressure to conform. Because of his honesty, he was imprisoned, highlighting the tension between true prophecy and royal power.
