King Ahaz (Judah) (jan 1, 732 BC – jan 1, 716 BC)
Description:
Ahaz was one of the most wicked kings of Judah. He embraced idolatry and foreign practices, even sacrificing his own son. During the Syro-Ephraimite War, when Pekah and Aram attacked Judah, Ahaz refused to trust God despite encouragement from the prophet Isaiah. Instead, he appealed to Assyria for help, making Judah a vassal and introducing Assyrian religious influence. His reign marked a spiritual low point and increased foreign dependence
