King Jotham (Judah) (jan 1, 740 BC – jan 1, 732 BC)
Description:
Jotham ruled righteously and continued many of his father Uzziah’s successful policies, strengthening cities and maintaining stability. Unlike Uzziah, he did not overstep into priestly roles, showing restraint. However, although the king was righteous, the people remained corrupt, and idolatry persisted at the popular level. During his time, tensions with neighboring kingdoms—including early pressures from Aram and Israel—began to rise.
