King Jehoram (Judah) (jan 1, 848 BC – jan 1, 841 BC)

Description:

Jehoram married into the house of Ahab, taking Ahab’s daughter Athaliah as wife, which brought northern kingdom corruption into Judah. He killed his own brothers to secure power and promoted idolatry. As a final message the prophet Elijah sent him a written rebuke predicting his downfall. During his reign, Edom successfully revolted against Judah, showing weakening control. He died from a painful disease, and unlike earlier kings, he was not honored in death.
