King Abijah (Judah) (jan 1, 913 BC – jan 1, 911 BC)
Description:
Abijah continued many of his father’s shortcomings but is remembered for a major conflict with Jeroboam I of Israel. In a speech before battle, he emphasized the legitimacy of the Davidic dynasty and the Temple in Jerusalem. Judah won a decisive victory, showing reliance—at least in that moment—on God. Still, overall, his reign is described as spiritually inconsistent.
