King Saul (jan 1, 1050 BC – jan 1, 1010 BC)
Description:
Saul was the first king, anointed by the prophet Samuel. He initially succeeded militarily against Israel’s enemies, especially the Philistines. However, he disobeyed God twice—offering a sacrifice himself and sparing Amalek’s king and livestock—leading Samuel to declare that his dynasty would not continue. His relationship with David became hostile, and he died tragically in battle against the Philistines.
