Shi Huangdi, Emporer and ruler of the Qin Dynasty, unified China during his rule, from its standards of measurement to its writing. He was a legalist dictator, and although harsh, he accomplished much. During his reign, the Great Wall of China was begun to keep out Northern nomads. When Shi Huangdi died, he was buried with a tercota army of 8,000 sculptures. His legacy can be observed throughout the world today.
