After the Livog Rebellion in the 16th Century which left a distain on the Javician military prowess, Emperor Xerin IV wanted to regain honor. The war was planned out for about 3 years beforehand, with Xerin strengthening and fortifying the Grossyan forts near the border and training the regional soldiers. Eventually, the army overwhelmed the Livog soldiers and it joined the empire once again. After the war, Xerin integrated the region under the Grossyan Duchy and replaced all local leaders with either Grossyan or Oipientian ones.
