Description:
This was the turning tide of the War (in the colonists' favor).There was no "battle" of Valley Forge; it was a harsh winter encampment for George Washington's Continental Army during the Revolutionary War (1777-1778). Despite extreme hardship from hunger, cold, and disease, the army survived under Washington's leadership, was trained by Baron von Steuben, and emerged as a more disciplined force, making the winter a crucial turning point in the war.
