under the leadership of an US ally Emilio Aquinaldo, Filipinos rose against their colinizers in a brutal guerrilla war until 1901. Aaquinaldo was captured in the end: the war occupied close to 100,000 soldiers with close to 5000 American deaths and an estimated 200,000 Filipinos died.Added to timeline:
