Description:
A conflict between the United States and Mexico over disputed territory, particularly the annexation of Texas, that resulted in the U.S. gaining a vast portion of what is now the Southwestern United States. The outcomes were territorial acquisition, treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, and increased tensions.
