Warring factions: Iran’s Interim Gov. Vs KDP-I, Komala, IPFG (supported by Iraq)
Location: Northeastern Iran
Notes: After the fall of the Pahlavi Dynasty, Kurdish nationalism was reinvigorated. Uprisings occurred in Paveh, Divan Darreh, Saqqwz, and Mahabad.
Support: KDP-I was supplied by the Iraqi army and received military equipment.
