Warring factions: State of Iran vs. Kurdish tribesmen in Iran.Intent: to smother Kurdish resistance in Iran
Kurdish leaders in Iraq, after being supported by Iranian Kurds, insisted that KDP-I restrained their activities against the Iranian leadership.
As a result, KDP-I leadership was replaced by one that supported peasant uprisings, but would ultimately be murdered.
