The New Deal (jan 1, 1933 – dec 31, 1937)

Description:

The New Deal was a set of federal programs that were launched by Franklin D. Roosevelt in response to the Great Depression. It expanded the role of the government in the economy by giving the federal government power to regulate previously unregulated areas of commerce. Along with it was the creation of new programs like social security and welfare aid for the poor. These programs helped increase the power of the federal government by expanding the things they could do to help the country as a whole.
