Description:

Between 1881 and 1914 CE, European countries rapidly expanded their control over African land and resources. This period, called the Scramble for Africa, resulted in nearly the entire continent being partitioned into colonies ruled by European powers. These new boundaries disrupted traditional African societies and made it easier for European governments to dominate the land. The driving force behind this expansion was imperialism, the belief that powerful nations had the right to control weaker regions for political and economic gain.
