Description:
The Ming Dynasty restored Han Chinese rule and is known for its strong centralized government, cultural revival, and architectural achievements, including the construction of the Forbidden City and the reinforcement of the Great Wall. The early Ming period featured the famous maritime expeditions of Admiral Zheng He. The dynasty also saw a flourishing of literature, painting, and porcelain production. However, it eventually declined due to corruption, fiscal strain, and peasant uprisings.
