Yuan Dynasty (1271 CE–1368 CE) (jan 1, 960 – jan 1, 1279)
Description:
The Yuan Dynasty was established by Kublai Khan, a grandson of Genghis Khan, and marked the first time China was ruled by a foreign power—the Mongols. The Yuan integrated China into a vast Eurasian empire, promoting trade and cultural exchange along the Silk Road. Despite initial prosperity, the dynasty struggled with internal rebellion, economic difficulties, and resistance from the Han Chinese population, leading to its eventual overthrow by the Ming.
