Qin Dynasty (221–206 BCE) (jan 1, 221 BC – jan 1, 206 BC)
Description:
The Qin Dynasty was short-lived but highly influential. Founded by Qin Shi Huang, the First Emperor of China, it marked the first unification of the Chinese states under a centralized imperial government. The Qin standardized weights, measures, currency, and writing, and began construction of the Great Wall. Despite these achievements, the dynasty's harsh legalist policies and forced labor led to widespread unrest and its rapid collapse after the emperor’s death.
