The Qin Dynasty was short-lived but highly influential. Founded by Qin Shi Huang, the First Emperor of China, it marked the first unification of the Chinese states under a centralized imperial government. The Qin standardized weights, measures, currency, and writing, and began construction of the Great Wall.
