Spread of Judaism – c. 1200 BCE to 70 CE (jan 1, 1200 BC – jan 1, 70)
Description:
Judaism began to take shape during the Late Bronze Age, with the Exodus and the giving of the Torah traditionally dated to around 1200 BCE. The religion spread primarily through the Kingdoms of Israel and Judah, and later through diaspora communities following the Assyrian (722 BCE) and Babylonian (586 BCE) exiles. After the Roman destruction of the Second Temple in 70 CE, Jewish communities became more widespread across the Mediterranean and the Middle East, maintaining their identity through synagogues, sacred texts, and rabbinic tradition.
