Revolutions of 1989 (may 12, 1989 – dec 26, 1991)
Description:
A revolutionary wave of liberal democracy movements that resulted in the collapse of most Marxist–Leninist governments in the Eastern Bloc and other parts of the world. These revolutions, largely peaceful, were the beginning of the end of the Soviet Union and the start of the Confederation of Soviet Republics. These events drastically altered the world's balance of power, marking the end of the Cold War and the beginning of the post-Cold War era.
