004.M34 - Recruited to the Sons for excellence in the mock war

There were rumours that Vaughn lied about his age in order to compete in the mock war as an older teen. This is supported by the numerous geneseed issues he experienced that would have lead to him being pulled, if not for the chapter's dire situation at the time, and his overperformance in training. Such issues include an overactive neuroglottis, a rejection of the sus-an membrane and an ossmodula malfunction that caused him to grow no taller than he already was (6'1"), making him the shortest recorded chapter master, captain, and lieutenant of the Sons of the Righteous. It is speculated that (for some unknown reason) he perceives things as slower than other astartes, which lead to him having unparalleled reactions.

024.M34 - Initiated into the 9th as a full battle brother

058.M34 - Graduated to the 6th company

100.M34 - Requested a transfer to the 7th company [because he saw the 6th company at the time as a throwaway company, mostly filled with the recruits who were viewed as lesser]. There was not, and still is not, a system for this as it is exceptionally rare, but given his stellar performance he was permitted to move.

-During this time, the chapter lost an honour captain, who was replaced by a man Vaughn saw as less fitting for the role than himself. He voiced his displeasure, however, he was not granted the roll because Balduran found him abrasive.

459.M34 - Became honour cpt at 470. Towards the end of the chapters recovery from 'the Howling' the honour captain died. Balduran elected to replace him with the 4th captain. Upon hearing this Vaughn protested, and Balduran proclaimed that "You'd have to best him a hundred times in combat to be half the man he is." Vaughn took this as a challenge and, over the course of the next decade, challenged the 4th captain to over 400 duels, winning the vast majority. When the 4th captain was eventually injured on a mission several years later, he agreed to forfeit his position to Vaughn, who he had become good friends with over the years of competition.

641.M34 - Iongantach Vaughn is appointed as the 6th chapter master of the Sons of the Righteous at 652
