The Second Sino-Japanese War (jul 7, 1937 – sep 2, 1945)

Description:

The Second Sino-Japanese conflict began on the night of July 7th, 1937, at the Marco Polo Bridge, where Japanese forces attacked Chinese soldiers, initiating the war. The Japanese would inflict serious defeats on China, such as conquering Shanghai and Wuhan, and most of western China; however, thanks to foreign nations being at war with Japan, and providing China with more advanced military equipment, the war started to turn in China's favour. Thanks to American involvement in the Pacific front, the Soviets' invasion of Manchuria, and American use of its atomic bombs, Japan would eventually surrender on the 2nd of September, 1945, which as part of the surrender, forced Japan to withdraw all territories from China, ending the conflict.
