The Chinese Civil War (aug 1, 1927 – dec 7, 1949)
Description:
The Chinese Civil War was a big event in Chinese modern history. It began after the Nanchang Uprising and involved the ROC (Republic of China) and the CCP (Chinese Communist Party). However, due to the Second Sino-Japanese War, which created a general pause in the civil war to deal with Japanese forces. Once Japan surrendered, the civil war continued and on the 7th of December,1949, the ROC eventually fled to Taiwan, while the Communists, under Mao Zedong, ruled over the rest of mainland China (except for Macau and Hong Kong).
