Third Battle of the Aisne (may 27, 1918 – jun 6, 1918)

Description:

(a.k.a. Operation Blücher-Yorck)
Bridges over the Aisne river were captured by the Germans and they continued on their way to Paris (which was only 80 miles away).
The first American attack on the Western Front was the Battle of Cantigny (28 May 1918) where the Americans captured the village of Cantigy and 200 German prisioners. The Americans also counter attacked at Belleau Wood at the Battle of Belleau Wood, which was the first major battle by the Americans against the German army. Vaux and Belleau Wood were successfully recaptured.
