End of the Cold War It ended in late 1991 ,The main two people involved in helping to end the Cold War would be US President Ronald Reagan and Soviet General Secretary Mikhael Gorbachev . Obviously the two countries involved would be the Soviet Union or Russia as it is today in the United States of America. The main points of this war was nuclear war in the spread of Communism globally and to put a stop to it.
