Description:

字业章，号莲峰，汉族，福建同安县（今属厦门市）人，抗英名将、民族英雄。出身行伍，历任嘉庆间参将、道光间总兵，鸦片战争爆发时任任福建水师提督，后改任江南提督，在鸦片战争时期保卫吴淞（今属上海市宝山区），与英国侵略军力战，英勇牺牲殉国。
