Java transfer (apr 8, 2025 – apr 23, 2025)
Description:
A spontaneous, and at the same time long-considered idea was brought forward: transferring Inostropia from Bedrock Edition to Java Edition. While Bedrock had always been preferred due to its simplicity and stronger multiplayer performance, the growing complexity of Inostropia eventually demanded more advanced tools to realize larger, more detailed, and more creative systems. The idea of switching to Java was therefore revived and put to a community vote. The majority supported the transfer, even though the second round of voting was extremely close.
The first major step was the creation of a modpack, which became the most time-consuming part of the entire process. All mods needed to be compatible, fit Inostropian gameplay, and support specific server mechanics. The initial modpack contained over 200 mods but was rejected, as it was too heavy and many players’ computers could not handle it. A second version was then created, reduced to 48 carefully selected mods. The most important included:
-Aether
-Create
-FTB Chunks
-Ad Astra
-MineColonies
Once this streamlined modpack was finalized, further steps could begin.
The next phase involved transferring Inostropian builds into the new Java world. This process went relatively smoothly, although some settlements such as Krasnoye and Larkspur were left behind. The spawn was also redesigned and relocated from its previous position 10,000 blocks away from world spawn into a central underground location, surrounded by bedrock for protection.
The final step was bringing the server fully online. This stage proved the most difficult, as multiple issues arose between the mods and the world setup. It took approximately five hours of continuous troubleshooting by InfinityZoom187 and Keith122132741 to resolve all problems. Finally, on the night of April 23rd, 2025, everything was successfully fixed. All mods functioned correctly, the world loaded properly, and the server entered a completely new era in Inostropian history.
