- opposed by Goering and Goebbels but liked Hitler, banned among Hitler youth
- known for their cartoons which often depict anti-semitic views
- propaganda for the people often anti-semitic and more fun to read than broadsheet format such as Der Angriff which was meant for more conservative older people
