Description:
Causes:
Many returned to work after WW1 while the economy fell & cheaper overseas competition led to lower wages and longer shifts
Called by TUC with 800,000 in multiple industries striking.
Clashes occurred with police and government recruited volunteers to take left positions
Impact:
Goverment refused to compromise and workers were left in weaker positions with employers having more control.
