Berlin Blockade (jun 24, 1948 – may 12, 1949)
Description:
The berlin blockade was when the USSR controlled part of Russia shut down all access to the western side of berlin. This led to the U.S., France, and Britian helping out the city, flying in supplies for a little under a year, keeping the city running. It was caused because of growing tensions between the east and the west, specifically between the USSR and the U.S. This eventually led to the creation of NATO as well.
