Korean War (jun 25, 1950 – jul 27, 1953)
Description:
North Korea with the aid of China and the USSR invaded South Korea across the 38th parallel to unify the country under communism. As a result the UN and US intervened to support South Korea. The war escalated into a major Cold War crisis with many casualties and shifts in the front lines, it was the first major fighting caused by the ideological differences between Communists and Capitalists and set the stage for the rest of the Cold War.
