Ruhr Occupation (jan 1, 1923 – jan 1, 1925)
Description:
The occupation of the Ruhr industrial section, by France, occurred in 1923. This is because Germany failed to make a reparations payment, which then prompted France to take immediate action. However, it caused massive hyperinflation, as the Ruhr workers went on strike. This damaged Germany's economy greatly, and also affected neighboring country's economies as well.
