Joe Frank Harris served as the Governor of Georgia from 1983 to 1991, bringing a conservative, businesslike approach to the state's leadership. Harris also played a pivotal role in securing the 1996 Summer Olympics for Atlanta and oversaw the construction of the Georgia Dome, the largest cable-supported domed stadium in the world at the time. Additionally, his administration expanded Georgia's highway system and attracted new businesses, contributing to a more diversified state economy.
