Josiah Tattnall (nov 7, 1801 – nov 4, 1802)
Description:
Josiah Tattnall served as the Governor of Georgia from November 7, 1801, to November 4, 1802. During his brief tenure, he oversaw the relocation of the University of Georgia to its current campus in Athens and addressed issues related to the state's northern and western borders. He also played a role in restoring his family's estate and clearing his father's name, which had been affected by the Yazoo land fraud. Due to declining health, Tattnall resigned from office in 1802 and passed away on June 6, 1803.
