Nathan Brownson (aug 18, 1781 – jan 3, 1782)
Description:
Nathan Brownson served as the governor of Georgia from August 18, 1781, to January 3, 1782. His tenure occurred during the final stages of the American Revolution, a time when Georgia was striving to reestablish its government after the British were expelled from Savannah. Brownson focused on rebuilding the state's infrastructure, encouraging citizens who had fled to return, and providing aid to those whose livelihoods had been disrupted by the war. He also addressed security concerns by dealing with hostile Creek Indians and bands of Tories, aiming to restore peace and stability to the region.
