George Walton (nov 4, 1779 – jan 3, 1780)

Description:

George Walton served as the Governor of Georgia from 1779 to 1780 during a turbulent time in American history. As governor, he really focused on the same things that John Weareat focused with. He was heavily involved in the state's Revolutionary War efforts, in managing the defense of Georgia against British forces. Walton also worked to strengthen the state's government and promote stability amidst the chaos of war. His tenure, also being short, marked his commitment to Georgia's independence and the fight for American liberty.
