Cultural Revolution (jun 1, 1966 – jun 1, 1976)
Description:
The goal of the Cultural Revolution was to pick out the last remaining bits of capitalism from China, which was the basis of Chairman Mao’s introduction of the Revolution. He organized the “Red Guards”, a military group that primarily consisted of teenagers. Their goal was to remove many of the older customs and traditions that China had been built off of.
