Enlightenment Period (jan 1, 1685 – jan 1, 1815)

Description:

This was a period where new types of government were formed. Until then, monarchy was the only way of government people really knew. People were however enlightened when ideas including democracy were mentioned. Unalienable rights were declared on what rights man are born with and cannot be stripped of or taken away. Enlightenment thinkers in John Locke, Jean Jacque Rousseau, and Montesquieu. The enlightenment mostly took place in Europe, but its ideas spread to other revolutions across the Atlantic.
