Matabele War (mar 29, 1893 – jan 1, 1894)
Description:
The Matabele War (also called the First Matabele War) took place from 1893 to 1894. It was fought between the British South Africa Company (BSAC) and the Matabele Kingdom (in present-day Zimbabwe). The British aimed to expand their control in Southern Africa, while the Matabele, led by King Lobengula, resisted colonization. The war ended with a British victory, leading to the eventual annexation of the Matabeleland region into British-controlled Southern Rhodesia.
