四川成都人，朱自清第二任夫人。1932年8月，与朱自清在上海结婚。陈竹隐毕业于北平艺术学院，为齐白石、溥西园的弟子，善书画，善度曲。婚后育有二子一女。陈竹隐曾在清华大学图书馆工作，曾任清华大学工会副主席，北京市政协委员。1990年去世。
