Germany Takes Western Europe (may 10, 1940 – jun 22, 1940)
Description:
In early May of 1940, German troops took over Belgium, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, and France within six weeks. This was Hitler's way of trying to weaken the defenses of Great Britain and France to get them to pull out of the war. On June 22,1940, France signs an an armistice and officially surrendered from the war.
