Description:
In October 1888 Vincent van Gogh rented four rooms in the ‘Yellow House’ on Place Lamartine. Paul Gauguin was his first roommate and only roommate. During and before this time is when Vincent had made some of his more well known pieces. At the time they were not appreciated. Paul Gauguin and Vincent clashed a lot on their opinions of art. So much that Paul was going to leave, but Vincent threatened him. Instead of doing anything though the same day he cut off his own ear. This showed the state of his mental health.Added to timeline:
