Description:

西汉重平（今河北吴桥南）人。
哀帝时，任待诏，谓汉家气运已衰，需改元易号。哀帝采其建议，以建平二年（前5）为太初元将元年，自号为“陈圣刘太平皇帝”，借此欺骗人民，企图挽救西汉垂危的统治。不久以“反道惑众”罪，被杀。
